| Charlie West |
 Charles Frederick McDonald West was born on Wednesday, 28th August, 1946, in Hillhead, Glasgow. The defender signed for Willie Thornton's Thistle on Monday, 14th September, 1964, having most recently been with Clydebank Strollers. Aged 19, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 5th March, 1966, in a 1-1 draw at home to Stirling Albion in the SFL First Division. There were no goals for Charlie during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 20th April, 1968, in a 4-0 defeat at home to St Johnstone in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 17 occasions. Charlie's club-list included Partick Thistle, Lincoln City, Chelmsford City and Stevenage Athletic. |

 Having come through with Clydebank Strollers, the youngster stepped up from the juveniles grade and eventually got his chance for Willie Thornton's Thistle, starting out as a right back, before switching to left back in 1968. Played in the 3-1 win at Chelmsford City in April, 1967, and perhaps they seen someting they liked, for he moved there 18 months later. Seemingly resigned to leaving Thistle, the 21-year-old played as a trialist in the first half of Lincoln City's friendly with Norwich City in May 1968 but failed to impress. Having just turned 22, he did transfer down South in November 1968, signing with Chelmsford City. Charlie settled as a midfielder and was described as a hard-tackling ball-winner when he transferred to Stevenage Athletic of the Southern League Division One for the start of 1971-72, where he scored 4 times in his 36 appearances that season. |
