You Couldn't Make It Up!

by Jack Little

The "Evening Times" reported that the new "Firhill Club" opened its doors to members on 20/1/1966. So many members turned up that only 200 could be admitted and many had to be turned away. Cabaret evenings, dances, drinks and snacks and bingo were planned for 2 or 3 nights a week as well as before and after home matches - all for the princely sum of £1 membership (ladies 12/6d).
