Several papers reported that at the Thistle AGM on 27/5/1914 the Directors announced a 5% dividend to shareholders following a financially successful season (even if disappointing on the field). To their surprise the shareholders rejected the dividend saying that they wanted a better team on the park and that the funds should be spent for that purpose.
