You Couldn't Make It Up!

Several papers reported in February 1908 the departure of 40-50 Scottish emigrants from St Enoch station Glasgow to join the SS Kensington leaving Liverpool for Canada as part of the Salvation Army's special emigration chartered sailings.  "The singing of the Partick Thistle Male Voice Choir…was splendid and it was a fine thought…to have this choir at the station".  The 1908 singing section!
