| Wilson [ii] |
Wilson (forename unknown) was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward appeared for Donald Turner's Thistle in September, 1942. He made his only appearance on Saturday, 19th September, 1942, in a 2-1 defeat away to Falkirk in the Southern League. There were no goals for Wilson in his one-off appearance for Thistle. His known club-list includes only Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when Wilson died. *

![]() Unfortunately there's nothing to go on in terms of identifying this (seemingly one-off) wartime player who turned out on the right wing vs. Falkirk in mid September '42. 5,000 were at Brockville for the Southern League encounter. After a goalless first half in which Henderson and Husband were if fine form, Falkirk took the lead (55) but Newall equalised for Thistle (62). Play was even after that and it could have gone either way until a powerful, unsavable 25-yard drive beat Henderson for Falkirk's winner 6 minutes from time. Wilson's appearance drew no comment in the reports, but Norman Corbett (a Camelon lad) of West Ham guested for the Bairns while home on leave. |
