![]() Willie Gibson was born on Friday, 3rd April, 1953, in St Andrews, Fife. The 5' 8 (10st 0lbs) forward signed for Peter Cormack's Thistle on Wednesday, 22nd July, 1981, having most recently been with Heart of Midlothian. Aged 28, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 25th July, 1981, in a 6-0 friendly win away to Ross County. That day, Willie became a member of our scoring debutant's club, and even added a second for good measure. He scored the last of his 7 goals on Saturday, 5th September, 1981, in a 4-2 defeat away to Dundee in the SFL Premier Division. He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 29th September, 1981, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Queen's Park in the Glasgow Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 11 occasions.
