Bio Extra

Played at left half in his only known game for Thistle, an unusual fixture played against Rugby Rovers (yes, a team made up of rugby players) in aid of the Partick Nurses Jubilee Fund. Five trialists played that evening: John Buchan (Alloa Seafield), Willie Ferguson (Ashton), George Drummond (Alloa Seafield), James Brydson (6th GRV) & Houston (Copeland). We're taking slight liberties with his I.D., honing in on the "Wm. Ferguson" on an Ashton team line-up from recent years. We have no grounds for labelling him "Willie" other than for our own desire to keep him distinct from William Ferguson who arrived at Meadowside almost 7 years later.
