William Allan was born sometime between 13th August, 1888, and 12th August, 1889, and is most likely to be Scottish. The 5' 8 (12st 0lbs) midfielder signed for George Easton's Thistle on Thursday, 4th August, 1910, having most recently been with Port Glasgow Athletic. Aged 21 or 22, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 17th August, 1910, in a 2-1 friendly win at home to Third Lanark. That day, William became a member of our scoring debutant's club. He scored the last of his 9 goals on Saturday, 30th September, 1911, in a 1-0 win at home to Clyde in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 6th April, 1912, in a 4-0 defeat away to Hibernian in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 32 occasions. His club-list included Kilsyth Emmet, Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, Port Glasgow Athletic, Partick Thistle, Ayr United and Clydebank FC. We don't know where or when William died. *
