Walter scored his first two known goals for Thistle on Saturday, 1st January, 1898, in a 5-2 win at home to Third Lanark in the SFL First Division.

He scored the last of his 9 known goals on Tuesday, 19th August, 1902, in a 4-0 friendly win at home to Third Lanark.
