Bio Extra

Arrived at Firhill from St Johnstone, in an exchange for Isaac English at a stage of the 94/95 season when relegation from the Premier League seemed inevitable. In a remarkable second half to the season, Thistle confounded their critics, including sections of their own support, by avoiding both the automatic relegation spot (that went to Dundee United) and the play-off (contested between Dunfermline and Aberdeen). Turner, plus a number of other very astute signings made by John Lambie, were instrumental in what was fast becoming an annual Premier League escape act. Sadly there was no escape act the following season, nor promotion back to the Premier League 12 months later. Turner left Thistle for St Mirren at the end of that season.
