Thomas McGrain was born on Saturday, 31st January, 1959, in Glasgow. The 5' 9 (10st 12lbs) defender signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Wednesday, 6th July, 1977, having most recently been with Duntocher Hibernian. Aged 18, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 3rd August, 1977, in a 6-1 friendly win away to Caledonian. There were no goals for Tommy during his spell with Thistle. He played his second and last game for the club on Saturday, 6th August, 1977, in a 4-1 friendly win away to Ross County. Tommy's club-list included Celtic, Maryhill, Duntocher Hibernian, Partick Thistle, Galway Rovers, Sligo Rovers, Dumbarton and Pollok. |
