| Tommy Gibb |
Thomas Gibb was born on Wednesday, 13th December, 1944, in Bathgate, West Lothian. The 5' 10 (11st 2lbs) midfielder signed for Willie Thornton's Thistle on Saturday, 4th May, 1963, having most recently been with Bathgate Thistle. Aged 18, he made his debut appearance on Monday, 30th September, 1963, in a 3-0 win at home to Glentoran in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. Tommy scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 20th March, 1965, in a 2-2 draw away to St Johnstone in the SFL First Division. He scored the last of his 18 goals on Saturday, 2nd March, 1968, in a 1-0 win away to Aberdeen in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 27th July, 1968, in a 3-3 friendly draw away to Bury, having clocked up 154 appearances as a Jag. Tommy's club-list included Bathgate Thistle, Partick Thistle, Newcastle United, Sunderland and Hartlepool United. |
