07.12.2013 Hibernian [a] D1-1 (SPFL Premiership - game 15)
Kris Doolan (1-0, 49 mins)
10,431 @ Easter Road
Kris Doolan was the man for a Tour D'Ecosse landmark goal in 2013. Having already bagged Thistle's first ever Pemiership goal in Dingwall in August and the goals which secured our 1,000th Top Flight win in Inverness in October, our instinctive marksman added the title of "6th Thistle League millenialist" when he put Thistle ahead against Hibernian, early in the second half of the December game in Edinburgh. From a great first touch on the halfway line he burst clear of his marker, jinked between two, and finished with a Messi-esque dink over the Hibs goalie. No one can claim to have seen all six of the Thistle millennial goals but I’d surprised if this wasn’t the finest of the lot. What a way to hit the landmark. Sublime!

goal.png 5000 RAY FARNINGHAM
ray-farningham.jpg
15.02.1992 Ayr United [h] W4-1 (SFL First Division - game 33)
George Shaw (1-0, 33 mins); Ray Farningham (2-0, 48 mins); Colin McGlashan (3-0, 59 mins); Davie Irons (4-1, 88 mins)
3,073 @ Firhill
Jags maintained 2nd spot in a thrilling 1st Division promotion race with a ruthless display against George Burley's men. Ray Farningham slotted home Geordie Shaw's rebounded volley to put Thistle 2-0 ahead in 48 minutes and in doing so netted League goal #5000. Hamilton ran us all the way to the wire but we held on to that second spot all the way to the very last second of the season's nailbiting finale.

goal.png 4000 ALEX RAE
alex-rae.jpg
03.01.1972 Airdrieonians [h] W4-2 (SFL First Division - game 19)
Alex Forsyth (1-1, pen 30 mins); Denis McQuade (2-1, 41 mins); Tommy Rae (3-2, 54 mins); Alex Rae (4-2, 87 mins)
8,683 @ Firhill
Our League Cup heroes were doing just grand in their first season back in the Top Flight and stayed in 8th place after coming from behind to win this Monday afternoon game. Alex Rae's 87th minute goal (credited to Frank Coulston in some press) completed the scoring for the day and secured the New Years Holiday victory and, in doing so, he duly cemented his place as our fourth League Goal millenialist.

goal.png 3000 ALEX WRIGHT
alex-wright.jpg
10.04.1954 Hamilton Academical [h] W4-0 (SFL Division A - game 27)
Alex Wright (1-0, 18 mins); Willie Sharp (2-0, 65 mins); Willie Sharp (3-0, 85 mins); Alex Wright (4-0, 87 mins)
7,000 @ Firhill
You know you're having a great season when you go 5th in April, as was the case after this one. The 3,000th League goal was an Alex Wright header from a Peter McKennan cross in 18 minutes which gave Thistle a 1-0 HT lead. Within a few short weeks, Meiklejohn's excellent Thistle team would cement a 3rd place Top Flight finish for the second time, repeating his magnificent achievement of 1947-48. This time it was made all the more special by the fact that, for the very first time, we had conquered the Rangers in the final Scottish League table.

goal.png 2000 DAVIE NESS
davie-ness.jpg
02.09.1931 Cowdenbeath [h] W5-1 (SFL First Division - game 7)
Davie Ness (1-0, 5 mins); Davie Ness (2-1, 60 mins); Alex Elliot (3-1, 64 mins); George Wyllie (4-1, 69 mins); John Torbet (5-1, pen 81 mins)
5,000 @ Firhill
A 60th minute cross from John Simpson is headed home by the prolific Davie Ness to put Thistle 2-1 ahead. Jags go Top 5 after this one.

goal.png 1000 GEORGE RAMSAY
george-ramsay.jpg
12.02.1916 Kilmarnock [h] W4-0 (SFL - game 26)
George Ramsay (1-0, 3 mins); George Ramsay (2-0, 1st half); George Ramsay (3-0, 42 mins); George Ramsay (4-0, 2nd half)
4,000 @ Firhill
At a rain-soaked Firhill, George Ramsay revelled in the mud with a first half hat-trick. Brilliantly, it was the actual hat-trick goal which registered as our 1000th in the SFL goals for column. He also bagged a 4th in the 2nd half, and in the process became the first Thistle player (as far as is known) to score all 4 of the Thistle goals in a match, capping a magical day for himself and offering some reward for the faithful who braved the uncovered Firhill terraces. One can only speculate as to the misery experienced that day by the travelling contingent from Ayrshire…

goal.png 1 WILLIE PAUL
willie-paul.jpg
19.08.1893 Morton [a] W3-2 (SFL Second Division - game 1)
Willie Paul (1-0, 1st half); Willie Paul (2-0, 10 mins); Hope Robertson (3-0, 1st half)
2,000 @ Cappielow
On a sunny day in Greenock more than 120 years ago, we got off to a flyer in our inaugural Scottish Football League match with two early goals and a third just before half-time giving us a 3 goal interval cushion. The travelling Partickonians were in dreamland! The odds were skinny that it'd be our all-time second highest goalscorer (and first-ever internationalist) who'd be the man in the right place to net Thistle's first ever SFL goal ;-)
