Stephen James Tait was born on Friday, 15th October, 1976, in Glasgow.

The 6' 0 (11st 8lbs) defender signed for John McVeigh's Thistle on Friday, 1st August, 1997 (after a trial game), having most recently been with Airdrieonians.

Aged 20, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 26th July, 1997, in a 4-0 friendly win away to Gala Fairydean.

There were no goals for Stephen during his spell with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 12th August, 1997, in a 2-1 defeat away to Hamilton Academical in the Challenge Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 4 occasions.

Stephen's club-list included Milngavie Wanderers, Airdrieonians, Partick Thistle and Rutherglen Glencairn.

Bio Extra

Spent only a month at Firhill after receiving a free transfer from Airdrie at the start of the 97/98 season as John McVeigh frantically searched for enough players to field a team for the opening game of the season against Hamilton at Coatbridge.
