Bio Extra

Raised in Cambuslang and a pupil at Trinity High School, Scott trained with Celtic as a very young boy but was released. His mother corresponded with several professional clubs on his behalf, and the 10-year-old joined the youth set-up at Hibernian in 2007, following a successful trial. Scott came through the youth set up at Hibs and, having signed a professional contract in February 2014, he made his first team debut for in December of the same year, in all making three appearances from the bench in that debut season. He scored his first goal for the club on 1 August 2015, in a League Cup game against Montrose. As a teenager, he was capped for Scotland at under-17 and under-19 international levels.

He moved on loan to Forfar Athletic in October 2015 and, upon returning to his parent club for the 2016–17 season, he made four league appearances as Hibernian won promotion as champions. A certain Brian Graham was a teammate that season! It was during these early years that Scott began drawing comparisons to the Scotland captain Scott Brown, due to similarities in their style of play and the fact that both players came through the Hibernian youth system. In November 2017, Scott was loaned to a third-tier club again, this time to Arbroath, where the fans voted him as their young player of the year for the 2017–18 season.

On 31 August 2018, Scott signed for Hamilton Academical on a two-year contract and this came to be the club where he really established himself as a revered central midfielder in the eyes of fans, and highly respected amongst his peers. He was a near ever-present as Accies secured their top-flight status in his first two seasons, but they dropped back to the second tier in 2021 and, worse still, to the third tier in 2023. It was a bittersweet season as the Challenge Cup was won, Accies defeating Raith Rovers by a goal to nil in front of 5,566 at the Falkirk Stadium. It was Accies first cup success in almost 30 years. With Scott captaining the team, they bounced back to the Championship at the first time of asking in May 2024, defeating Inverness CT on their own patch to seal the deal in the play off final.

To a turbulent background, and much to the chagrin of the Accies support, Scott departed New Douglas Park in the January transfer window of 2025, signing an 18-month deal with Kris Doolan's Partick Thistle on deadline day, 3rd February 2025. Unfortunately, in just his fifth appearance for the club he suffered a serious knee injury which prematurely ended his season, however, he worked hard and returned ahead of schedule in a Scottish Cup tie against Forfar in November 2025. Overall, he featured 10 times for Mark Wilson's Thistle in 2025-26, before heading to the south side of Glasgow on loan in February, playing a pivotal role in Queen’s Park’s Championship survival. Immediately following this succesful spell, he signed a two-year deal with the Spiders.
