 Scott (forename unknown) was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The defender appeared for Thistle in November, 1923, whilst a Rothesay Royal Victoria player. He made his only appearance on Wednesday, 14th November, 1923, in a 2-0 win away to a Bute Select in a Benefit match. There were no goals for Scott in his one-off appearance for Thistle. His known club-list included Rothesay Royal Victoria and Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when Scott died. *

 We know next to nothing about this Rothesay Royal Victoria player, who guested once for Thistle when they answered the call from Bute to assist in a fund raising match in mid-November 1923. On a cold afternoon in Rothesay, Thistle avenged their surprise defeat on the same ground from a couple of years earlier. The local Bute Select put in a decent effort, but goals in each half from Lambie and Hair ensured Thistle were always in control. Scott, playing at left-back, will have been happy to register a clean-sheet to ensure a 100% win-rate and clean-sheet ratio! Jags paid their own fares on the day, and a healthy number of tickets sold ensured a decent cheque for the widow and family of the late Donald McPhail, a popular footballer who had also played with Rothesay Royal Victoria as well as the Academicals. |
