Alexander Frame was born on Monday, 15th November, 1954, in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire.

The 6' 0 (12st 6lbs) forward signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Saturday, 27th September, 1975, having most recently been with Mount Ellen United.

Aged 20, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 25th October, 1975, in a 0-0 draw away to Arbroath in the SFL First Division.

Sandy scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 23rd October, 1976, in a 2-1 win at home to Kilmarnock in the SFL Premier Division.

He scored the last of his 3 goals on Tuesday, 4th April, 1978, in a 2-1 defeat away to Aberdeen in the SFL Premier Division.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 24th March, 1979, in a 3-3 defeat (on pens) away to Rangers in the Glasgow Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 16 occasions.

Sandy's club-list included Chryston Amateurs, Mount Ellen United and Partick Thistle.
