 Sam Clark was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward signed for Thistle in August 1888, having most recently been with Westburn. He made his first known appearance on Saturday, 11th August, 1888, in a 4-2 friendly win at home to Kilbirnie. Sam scored his first known goal for Thistle on Saturday, 14th December, 1889, in a 4-0 friendly win at home to Battlefield. He scored the last of his 20 known goals on Saturday, 21st March, 1891, in a 3-2 friendly defeat at home to Glasgow Thistle. He played his last known game for the club on Saturday, 24th October, 1891, in a 1-0 defeat at home to King's Park in the Scottish Alliance League, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 49 occasions. His club-list included Westburn, Partick Thistle and Clyde. We don't know where or when Sam died. *
