 Ross (forename unknown) was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The defender first appeared for Thistle in April, 1912. He made his only known appearance on Monday, 29th April, 1912, in a 2-1 defeat at home to Rangers in a Benefit match. There were no goals for Ross in his one-off game for Thistle. His known club-list included Bellahouston Academy Former Pupils and Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when Ross died. *

 Ross played at right-back in his only known game for Thistle, a Monday night match at Firhill against Rangers, for the the benefit of the recently widowed wives of former players Jacky Smith and David Hislop. He was one of four trialists who featured as a Jag, and the only one who was identified at the time with a club, namely the Bellahouston Academy Fomer Pupils, who were going well in the Scottish Amateur Cup at the time. Rangers won by two goals to one and nothing came of it for Ross, but around 4,000 turned out and, at the end of all endeavours, £100 was raised for the two families. |
