The forward signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Wednesday, 25th May, 1977, having most recently been with Kilmarnock.

Aged 30, he made his debut appearance on Monday, 1st August, 1977, in a 1-0 friendly win away to Keith.

Ronnie scored his first goal for Thistle on Wednesday, 3rd August, 1977, in a 6-1 friendly win away to Caledonian.

He scored the last of his 3 goals on Saturday, 12th August, 1978, in a 1-0 win away to Motherwell in the SFL Premier Division.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 13th October, 1979, in a 2-1 win away to St Mirren in the SFL Premier Division, having appeared as a Jag on 13 occasions.
