Ronald Lowrie was born on Saturday, 5th March, 1955, in Aberdeen. The 6' 0 (11st 7lbs) goalkeeper signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Wednesday, 27th March, 1991, having most recently been with Alloa Athletic. Aged 36, he made his only appearance on Saturday, 2nd November, 1991, in a 1-1 draw at home to Hamilton Academical in the SFL First Division. Ronnie's club-list included St Roch's, Clydebank, Queen's Park, Hamilton Academical, Stranraer, Blantyre Victoria, Baillieston Juniors, Alloa Athletic, Partick Thistle and Pollok. |
![]() Signed as on experienced back up to Andy Murdoch and Craig Nelson, Lowrie played one game, a 1-1 draw with Hamilton at Firhill, during season 91/92 before joining Pollok Juniors. Enjoyed great success at Newlandsfield as a player and continued that success as a manager with the same club. |
