Roderick Duncan William MacDonald was born on Monday, 30th August, 1954, in Alness, Ross and Cromarty. The 6' 1 (12st 9lbs) defender signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Thursday, 20th July, 1989, having most recently been with Morton. Aged 34, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 2nd August, 1989, in a 4-2 friendly defeat at home to Rangers. There were no goals for Roddy during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 28th February, 1990, in a 1-0 defeat away to Alloa Athletic in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 20 occasions. Roddy's club-list included Brora Rangers, Celtic, Heart of Midlothian, Morton, Partick Thistle, Queen of the South and Irvine Meadow XI. |
