Robert Murray was probably born in the early 1870s, and is most likely to be Scottish. * The forward joined Thistle in 1891. He made his first known appearance on Saturday, 31st October, 1891, in a 3-0 friendly defeat away to Sunderland Albion. Robert scored his first two known goals for Thistle on Saturday, 26th March, 1892, in a 4-3 friendly defeat at home to Vale of Leven. He scored the last of his 22 known goals on Saturday, 11th August, 1894, in a 5-2 win at home to Dundee Wanderers in the SFL Second Division, again, netting a brace on the day. He played his last known game for the club on Wednesday, 15th August, 1894, in a 1-1 friendly draw at home to Third Lanark, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 55 occasions. His club-list included Gordon Highlanders, Partick Thistle, Nottingham Forest, Airdrieonians and Dykehead. We don't know where or when Robert died. *
