Richard Charles Gillies was born on Tuesday, 24th August, 1976, in Glasgow. The 5' 10 (12st 2lbs) forward signed for Dick Campbell's Thistle on Thursday, 2nd June, 2005, having most recently been with St Mirren. Aged 28, he made his debut appearance on Tuesday, 12th July, 2005, in a 3-2 friendly defeat away to Buckie Thistle. Ricky scored his first goal for Thistle on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2005, in a 2-1 defeat away to Falkirk in the League Cup. He scored his second and final goal for the club on Saturday, 10th December, 2005, in a 4-1 win away to Stenhousemuir in the Scottish Cup. He played his last game for Thistle on Saturday, 8th April, 2006, in a 1-0 defeat away to Greenock Morton in the SFL Second Division, having appeared as a Jag on 47 occasions. Ricky's club-list included St Mirren, Aberdeen, Partick Thistle, Hawke's Bay United and Stranraer. |
