Rhys Douglas Breen was born on Thursday, 6th April, 2000, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. The 6' 0 (11st 9lbs) defender temporarily transferred to Ian McCall's Thistle on Friday, 28 August 2020, from his parent club, Rangers. Aged 20, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 19th September, 2020, in a 3-0 friendly win at home to BSC Glasgow. There were no goals for Rhys during his spell at the club. He played his last game for Thistle on Saturday, 19th December, 2020, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Peterhead in the SPFL League One, having appeared as a Jag on 9 occasions. At August, 2022, his club-list included Rangers, Partick Thistle, Queen of the South, Orange County and Dunfermline Athletic. |
In November 2019, Breen, a product of the Rangers youth system, signed a new contract with the club extending his stay until the summer of 2021. On 27 August 2020, Breen joined Scottish League One club Partick Thistle on loan until the end of the season. Breen was recalled from Thistle at the beginning of 2021 and on 7 January 2021, joined Scottish Championship side Queen of the South on loan for the remainder of the season. Breen made his debut for the club in a win against Greenock Morton. Breen moved on loan to Rangers' USL Championship affiliate club Orange County SC on 14 May 2021. After 3 months in America, Breen returned home to Scotland to sign a two-year contract with Scottish Championship club Dunfermline Athletic. |
