Owen Foster was born on Thursday, 23rd March, 2006, in Glasgow. The defender joined Mark Wilson's Thistle for a trial period in June, 2025, having most recently been with St Mirren. Aged 19, he made his only appearance on Saturday, 28th June, 2025, in a 3-1 friendly win away to Glenafton Athletic. There were no goals for Owen in his one-off game for Thistle. At July, 2025, his club-list included St Mirren, Linlithgow Rose, Cumbernauld Colts, Partick Thistle and Alloa Athletic. |
![]() Comfortable with both feet, Owen's preferred position is on the right side of defence, either at centre or as right back. As a St Mirren youngster, he was loaned out to Linlithgow Rose in January 2024 and won man-of-the-match in the big Lowland League derby versus Bo'ness a couple of months later. Back at St Mirren, he featured for the 'B' team in a Challenge Cup tie away to Berwick in July 2024, Saints exiting by 3 goals to nil. In October 2024, he was back in the lowland league, turning out for Cumbernauld Colts until the end of the season in which he was recognised as their player of the year. In the summer of 2025, his contract at St Mirren expired just after his 19th birthday, at which point he became a free agent. Thistle scouts brought him to the attention of Thistle's head coach Mark Wilson, who invited him into Firhill for a pre-season trial. Owen played around half an hour at right back in the second half of a pre-season friendly at Glenafton, Thistle winning by 3 goals to 1. With no deal forthcoming, Owen signed for Alloa on 11 July 2025 and got off to a great start as they finished top of their League Cup group with the 12 points maximum. The teenager got on the scoresheet as the Wasps won 3-2 at Airdrie to clinch top spot. |
