Neil Gibson was born on Monday, 24th April, 1899, in Larkhall, South Lanarkshire. The midfielder signed for George Easton's Thistle on Friday, 6th May, 1921, having most recently been with Ashfield. Aged 22, he made his debut appearance on Tuesday, 23rd August, 1921, in a 3-3 draw at home to Clydebank FC in a Benefit match. There were no goals for Neil during his spell with Thistle. He played his second and last game for the club on Saturday, 10th September, 1921, in a 1-0 win away to Queen's Park in the SFL First Division. His club-list included Ashfield, Partick Thistle, Queen of the South, Royal Albert and Clyde. Neil died in 1978, in Larkhall, South Lanarkshire, aged 78. *
