Murray John Lauden McDowell was born on Friday, 17th February, 1978, in Dundee. The 5' 11 (11st 11lbs) forward signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Tuesday, 14th August, 2001, having most recently been with Cowdenbeath. Aged 23, he made his debut appearance on Tuesday, 14th August, 2001, in a 5-3 win (aet) away to Raith Rovers in the Challenge Cup. That day, Murray became a member of our scoring debutant's club. He scored his second and final goal for the club on Tuesday, 11th September, 2001, in a 3-0 win away to Berwick Rangers in the League Cup. He played his last game for Thistle on Saturday, 20th October, 2001, in a 2-1 win at home to Raith Rovers in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 6 occasions. Murray's club-list included Berwick Rangers, Scone Thistle, Lochee United, Carnoustie Panmure, Cowdenbeath, Partick Thistle, Queen of the South, Clyde, Arbroath, Stenhousemuir, Tayport, Kelty Hearts, Linlithgow Rose, Jeanfield Swifts and Oakley United. |
