Mitchell Gregory Reginald Austin was born on Wednesday, 3rd April, 1991, in Rochdale.

The 6' 1 (12st 4lbs) forward signed for Gary Caldwell's Thistle on Wednesday, 24th July, 2019, having most recently been with Sydney.

Aged 28, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 11th January, 2020, in a 4-1 defeat at home to Dundee United in the SPFL Championship.

There were no goals for Mitch in his spell at Thistle.

He played his second and last game for the club on Friday, 14th February, 2020, in a 2-1 defeat at home to Raith Rovers in the Challenge Cup.

At August, 2025, his club-list included Stalybridge Celtic, Cambridge United, Lincoln City, Brackley Town, Southport, Central Coast Mariners, Melbourne Victory, Newcastle Jets, Sydney, Partick Thistle and Daisy Hill.

Bio Extra

Born in England to an Australian father, Austin began his senior career at Stalybridge Celtic in 2010. Three years later, he joined Cambridge United and, after loans to Lincoln City, Brackley Town and Southport in 2014, Austin moved to Australian side Central Coast Mariners in 2015. He remained in Australia for four further years, playing at Melbourne Victory, Newcastle Jets and Sydney FC. In 2019 Austin moved to Scotland, playing one year for Partick Thistle, where he made only made two appearances before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Austin left Thistle in March 2020 during the pandemic to return home to his family in Australia.

Since his departure from Thistle, Austin has been in a state of free agency for more than three years due to an injury necessitating two cartilage transplants, during which time he has awaited suitable donors for the surgical procedures. In April 2023, he was close to returning to fitness but unfortunately all the hard work of rehab was taken away from him in a car accident, caused by another driver. Austin is also known for being a content creator on TikTok under the username @Mitchaustin10 with content primarily revolving around Fifa challenges with his FIFA 19 card, Esports and general association football content.
