1st v 2nd. Another sound beating. Thistle started brightly but Gretna took the lead with a header (14). Young and Donnelly went close to equalising but goals (42 and 45) killed the game. Some half chances were made before Gretna got back into it and scored (84). A win would have seen Thistle go top but it never looked on.

Colin McMenamin's hat-trick sent Gretna on their way to a thumping win over promotion rivals Partick Thistle. McMenamin headed home from a David Graham cross on 14 minutes and a great double save from Alan Main denied Thistle's Derek Young an equaliser. McMenamin slotted in after more good work from Graham and the hat-trick was completed from close range. Alan Jenkins sealed the victory in a dull second half when he blazed home a cross from James Grady.
