Queens had the better chances but Thistle played the better football in a goalless first half. Roberts twisted, turned in the box and gave Thistle the lead (53). It was end to end stuff after that. Queens hit the bar (82) but after a good build-up Gibson (G) set up Donnelly to score a min later.

Partick Thistle joined a three-way tie at the top of the First Division after a comfortable win at Palmerston Park. Mark Roberts ran onto the ball and eased his way past two players before firing home after 53 minutes. And, seven minutes from time, Simon Donnelly ran through the home defence to neatly tuck the ball away. Andy Barrowman, Paul Burns and John O'Neill all missed chances for Queens while a Sean O'Connor effort hit both the crossbar and the post.
