TTA report

Despite all Thistle's pressure it was Ayr who scored with a low header (32). Thistle levelled thanks to McCulloch's free-kick (54) and Roberts made it 2-1 with a shot in the corner (65) after good work by Ritchie and McConalogue. Ayr applied late pressure but shots were blocked and Arthur was seldom tested.

Second-half goals from Scott McCulloch and Mark Roberts gave Partick Thistle a deserved win over Ayr United. Ayr had led through Gareth Wardlaw's first-half header from Craig Conway's cross but had to spend large amounts of time defending. But former Ayr defender McCulloch rifled home a 25-yard free-kick to level matters. Roberts then grabbed the winner when he slotted home after a shot from new signing Paul Ritchie was blocked.
