Stenhousemuir (1st in Div 3) scored from a poorly defended corner (55 secs). It should have been 2-0 but eventually a McCulloch 20-yard free-kick levelled (26). Thistle were seldom in trouble after that and Gillies made it 2-1 just before half-time. Santala at the back post (79) and McConalogue (85) made things safe.

Thistle came back from a goal down to knock Stenny out of the Scottish Cup. The hosts opened the scoring after 55 seconds, Michael Renwick driving the ball into the net. Scott McKellar's 26th minute free kick levelled the scores, before Ricky Gillies fired in the second after beating the offside trap. Duke Gekantawa slotted home Stephen McConalogue's cross to make it 3-1, with McConalogue himself wrapping things up with five minutes remaining.
