Rovers scored (8) but a close-range header by Brady made it 1-1 (27). With Thistle looking comfortable, 2 goals from individual errors turned the tables - a header from a cross (75) and a 25-yard drive (77). But for Arthur late on it might have been worse. Thistle trooped off to a chorus of boos.

Two goals within a minute in the second half enabled Raith to take the spoils. Raith's Paul McManus blasted in the first after eight minutes, before Darren Brady's diving header levelled the scores after 26 minutes. The second half was a tame affair until the match swung in Raith's favour in the 75th minute. Chris McLeod rose at the far post to head home a McManus cross and straight afterwards, substitute Brian Fairbairn curled home a shot from 10 yards.
