LAMBIE: I'LL RAISE THE DEAD. JOHN LAMBIE hopes there's life after death as Partick bid to revive their promotion bid. The manager watched his men slip off the rails against rock-bottom Queens and said: “They were dead, with no oomph in them at all. They couldn't string two or three passes together and they held on to the ball when it was on to penetrate the defence.” Lambie admitted the result, coupled with their defeat by Clyde, did their chances no good. But he said: “To be fair to the players, we had taken only four points out of our first nine games and they drew us into the promotion race from having no chance at all. We are still there with a chance.” Queens struck through top scorer Stevie Mallan in seven minutes and stayed in front until just after the break when Scott Miller was downed in the box and Derek McWilliams netted the penalty for Thistle. Thistle finished with 10 men after Quinton Jacobs was sent off for a second yellow card. Queens co-manager Ken Eadie said: “It's just a pity we couldn't land the killer punch.”
