HENDRIE READS RIOT ACT TO ALLOA. TOM Hendrie put a brave face on it after his Alloa Athletic side, buoyant following a seven-goal victory over Stirling Albion the previous week, came crashing back to earth with a 1-0 defeat at Partick Thistle. He said: “In a way, this will prove to be a good result for us. Too many players thought they had the league won last week, but consistency, not one-off results, is going to achieve things this season. We showed against Stirling Albion just how good we can be, but it was the opposite against Thistle, and the players should be prepared to learn from that.” Alan Morgan hit the only goal, more of a deflection really, midway through the second half to give the Maryhill men all three points. He admitted: “My goal was a bit lucky, but it was good to see it go in all the same. I had missed a sitter just on half-time, and we were all beginning to wonder if we were going to score at all.”
