The Thistle were unimpressive against newly promoted Rovers until McCoy scored (24) when the keeper fumbled a Kerr drive. He swept home the 2nd (44) but Thistle were flattered by 2-0. They dominated the second half and Campbell scored (46) then McCoy completed his hat-trick (76). Rovers had a man sent off (78).
