At soulless Meadowbank, Thistle fell behind to a 25-yarder (10) but they led 2-1 at half-time with goals from Logan and Dalziel (23 and 36). Three goals (53, 79 and 85) dumped Thistle out of the cup at the first hurdle prompting ugly scenes and verbal abuse of Directors, Manager and players.
