A good positive first half by Thistle saw Johnston go close then O'Hara headed wide from 8 yards. They soaked up Celtic's pressure and 0-0 at half-time gave them some hope. After Jardine had gone close from 25 yards a Crainie hat-trick (52, 76 and 87) dashed any hopes of even a draw.
