Paradoxically Thistle played very well but were well beaten. They went bottom as Celtic went 5 points clear at the top. A 30-yarder (25) and a wicked deflection (59) won the points. Johnston (who brought out a brilliant save), Clark and Watson were Thistle's best on the day but it wasn't enough.
