| Hearts took the lead with a fine goal (25) but it was a poor, scrappy, over-physical game. Thistle had the bulk of the play but couldn't finish. Half the floodlights failed to work but in the gathering gloom Somner (a vicious 18-yard drive, 80) and Melrose (a fine header from a Mackie cross, 84) set up the 2nd leg. |
