A fine goal following a poor pass-back by Reid gave Motherwell the lead (2) then Mullin held off a challenge and shot past the outrushing keeper (4) but a pen for Clark's hand ball made it 2-1 (8). Thistle played some fine football and only a great save denied Gibson. Motherwell controlled the second half.
