1st league win in 8, 11 points from 34, but no better way to start 1956 than to beat Clyde. A brilliant right-foot shot by Ewing mid-way through the second half won the vital points. It was a scrappy game and the only entertainment came after the goal as Clyde went looking for an equaliser but Thistle hung on.
