Thistle had the majority of possession but never managed to subdue 2nd bottom Airdrie. Their packed defence and quick breaks posed problems and they hit the bar in the first half. Howitt also hit the bar but he scored (63) when his shot twice hit defenders on the line and he scored at the 3rd attempt.
