An Alex Stott hat-trick is reported in SC/DC/ACA, but we stick with the Stott/Sharp/Stott sequence as per GH/DR/CL/OH. Also, APJ, in their preview of the matches on 19/8, talks of Alex Stott having scored 3 in Thistle's opening 2 matches (not 4) - suggesting he only scored 2. We are, therefore, quite comfortable with our position.

A early goal by Sharp was disallowed. Airdrie were the better team in the first half and goals (29 and 33) put them 2-up. They missed a pen just after half-time and spurred on by this, Thistle rallied and Stott scored (59). Airdrie faded and Sharp scored from a MacKenzie cross before Stott got his 2nd (85).
