Partick Thistle deservedly won a game in which there were more hard knocks than polished football. In the first half Clyde’s defence was none too steady and as Partick Thistle were the better side in so far as they made better use of their openings they were value for their half-time lead of 2 goals to 0, Harris scoring both goals. The second half was hardly started when Duncan was fouled within the penalty area, Smith scoring with the resultant free kick. This success had a salutary effect on the Clyde’s subsequent play, but they failed at close quarters. Bowie scored Thistle’s third goal.
