“The game was not a brilliant one” (SC). Whittle gave Thistle the lead (on his debut) but Motherwell equalised early in the second half. Branscombe and Whittle again extended the lead and when Bulloch scored with a penalty “all interest died out, the Thistle winning easily” (SC).
