Following a defensive mistake, Branscombe put Thistle ahead. Kilmarnock were the better team. Their forwards had no luck but they did equalise just on half-time. After the break play was even for a while but eventually Kilmarnock got on top and scored again. Their wingers caused problems all afternoon.
