This friendly was in aid of Renton's “Pavilion Fund“. 3,000 saw Wilkie and Gray (R) give Thistle (pretty much at full strength) a half-time lead. The home team scored with a penalty and their equaliser came 15 minutes from time. Thistle missed a pen in the second half.
