After early chances at both ends, Paul gave Thistle the lead (5) when the keeper and 2 full-backs got in a muddle. Airdrie soon equalised then Freebairn scored twice in quick succession to give Thistle a 3-1 half-time lead. Airdrie pulled one back with a long drive but although both keepers were busy it ended 3-2.
